Marriage of convenience type fantasy novel. Good action, very likeable characters, nice romance and lots of sensuality.--Julie

This one, I can't agree with. I really disliked this book and my curse of forgetfulness means I can't tell you why. I remember thinking the heroine was a bonehead (I wish I could be more precise), and just about every page of the book grated on my nerves. I wanted it to have more zing, be more original, more powerful, and it never was.--Preeti

FIREWALK was more of an arranged-marriage between two lands and I'd call the heroine more of a "bitchy one" than a "bonehead." I think I liked it more because of the sex in it--Julie

I love bitchy heroines. But this one didn't work for me at all. I'd have to re-read to tell you why (noooooo!)--Preeti

Probably the best Logston I've read for a while. The huge plot turn with about 50 pages left was a little out of left field, but I still enjoyed the book. It was set in a well developed, rich world, with one (mostly gratuitous) reference to Logston's Shadow series.--Rebekah

I also read Logston's FIREWALK. I started out liking it more than I ended up liking it. I had a problem with 1) the mystery of who poisoned the queen, when if it was obvious to *me* why couldn't anyone else see it (idiot plot syndrome), and 2) the way some of her characters just didn't seem cohesive. It was like she needed something for a scene to work, and so what if it didn't make sense in terms of this character. I never understood the king's brother because of this. I also bought Waterdance and I try it in the next week or two.--Shelly (09 Aug 99)
