Only a little romance in the first book, but it sets the stage for the second book.  WONDERFUL books.  Heroine is feisty, smart-mouthed, & on a mission.  Excellent world building with shapeshifters, vampires, and characters out of myths.  Setting is Atlanta where, if Magic (spells, magical power, all non-tech transportation [think horses] is working, then Tech (phones, cars, electricity & other technology-based stuff) is not, and vice versa.  Author website is http://www.ilonaland.com/.  April-released Magic Burns is getting rave reviews.  Book 3, Magic Strikes, is one of the very few forthcoming books that I'd be willing to pay the publisher double the cover price just to get the book early electronically to find out what happens to the love interest.  Bonus:  author posts short snippets from book 3 on her blog.   Tantalizing!

Ooh, I know the answer to this one:  MAGIC BITES.  But I haven't read it; it's merely a decorative part of my TBR pile.
