The other book by this author which I bought as an eBook was Command Performance, which I thought was good, but seemed to be a set up for a sequel which never came along.

Hi Everyone!

Just posting to let you know that my first Science Fiction Romance, The Observer, is now available on the Kindle Store. I have pasted the blurb below. It is about a member of an ancient alien race that created humanity, and one of their members fall for a human woman.

http://www.amazon.com/The-Observer-ebook/dp/B00559TWFK/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text...

Gabriel is an Observer: a member of an ancient race that created
Earth and humanity. His task is simple. He observes humans from afar
and reports any sign of interference from The Fallen, people of his
kind who have broken their most important rule: never interact with
humans. But when Gabriel becomes fascinated with the young,
vibrant--and human--Alyssa, it isn't long before he justifies breaking
the rule himself.

His forbidden association with her doesn't go unnoticed. The Fallen
seek to recruit him and The Enforcers, a separate caste of his society
who ensure punishment of those who break the rules, force him to
hide--all the while trying to combat a centuries-old plot by The
Fallen to destroy humanity and claim Earth for themselves.

Spending most of his time now with Alyssa in her world, Gabriel
realizes he's acting more like a human than an Observer, and he must
make a choice: sever all ties with his people, or lose the woman he
loves.

Can download E Reader versions for free for a short time. This is new. I know because I paid for it  just last month! Arghhhh!  Angry

A romance adventure set well in the future. It is listed as 'Young Adult' but I loved it and I'm 27!

Cities have locked their doors and going outside is dangerous, a bit like Brave New World. But when a seven year old goes out by chance he begins a mystery that he goes back to solve at 19. That's when it gets to the romance with plenty of action/adventure.

I found it looking for E reader formats. Hope others like it as much as me.  Smiley

I was published under 3 pen names: Emily Devenport, Maggy Thomas, and Lee Hogan.  Many of my books were reviewed on this site, so I thought I'd better share the news that I'm writing as Emily Devenport again, and my new novel is an ebook published by Smashwords, THE NIGHT SHIFTERS.  You can sample 50% of it for free on the Smashwords site, but you can also find it at other ebook sites like Barnes & Noble (coming soon to amazon).  If you don't have a Nook or a Kindle, check out my page on the Smashwords site -- THE NIGHT SHIFTERS is available in several formats.

A Science Fiction Romance
www.CrescentMoonPress.com

Over 5,000 years ago, Sumerian cuneiform tablets warned future civilizations of the planet Nibiru.

Kate Kelly, wife of famous archaeologist Jason Kelly, follows her husband to Sedona, Arizona with her son Ryan to assist in the uncovering of an ancient Anasazi village. During her passage across the states, a large comet appears overhead, clouding the skies with red dust. Some say the comet is icy residue left over from the big bang. Others say it heralds the end of times. Kate isn't sure though she detests the bloody red skies and miserable dust that follows her from San Francisco to Sedona.

Within days nightmares begin, within weeks, the first signs of a coming maelstrom appear. A UFO appears overhead, computers spit out nonsensical sentences, and Kate meets an ancient Anasazi woman, named Woman Who Walks With Light. Noah, an alien light being sent to assist Earth is drawn to Kate, and Bel, his superior, has known for eons that Kate Kelly will be the chosen human to record the final collapse of Earth's greatest civilization. Attracted and bound to her by previous lives, Noah is assigned to Kate. Soon they become the conduit through which humanity is reborn and together they witness a new Earth coming to power in a galactic age.

MerryLee says:

Packed with prophesy, pain and passion; with love, devastation and renewal, Gemini Rising is the memorable introduction to what promises to be an epic intergalactic/interdimensional series that will rock sci-fi readers to the core.  This first book is set in the near future in the United Socialist States. America is plagued with many of the consequences that today’s conservatives believe we will face if our government continues down its current liberal path.  Yet, as frightening as this future world becomes, it didn’t once occur to me to put this book down. Simply put, it's one of the most amazing, yet unsettling books I’ve ever read.  For Ms. Carroll, it’s a crowning achievement, so masterfully written it can do nothing but win every award for which it’s certain to be nominated.

About the author: Louann Carroll is a Native Californian living in the Sierra Nevada foothills with her husband, Dennis. Mother to three children and grandmother to six, she is an avid rock, fossil, and gem hunter who enjoys sharing her finds with her grandchildren and friends. She is a student of alternative religion, archaeology, anthropology, and paleontology. She was five when she found her first set of fossilized shark teeth. Since then, she has added numerous finds to her on-going collection.

Louann has written numerous radio talk shows, articles on adoption, and is the author of Journeys, The Adventure of Leaf. She was the senior editor of American Carriage House Publishing and assisted in the writing, editing, and formatting of the award winning book, AdoptingOnline.com.

Hello everyone. . . I just joined this forum to talk about Feehan's "Dark" Series. I suggest the people who do not like the "Dark Series" to read the series from the beginning with "Dark Prince". This is not a series of book you will understand if you start in the middle or even with the 2nd book.
Feehan book are rich in description and development of characters which spands over 20 books.
Some of you do not like the book Dark Magic and Greggori's character--why? because you don't understand his character development through the series and why he almost changed into a vampire to begin with. That he gave the Savannah character 5 years of freedom and only came to her when he was going to turn.
Give the book another chance--Please!   Smiley

10  Information Exchange / Book Identification Help / HELP! I'm looking for a sci fi short story

I read this strange science fiction romance story long ago when I was twelve. I need help remembering what it was called.

The story goes like this:

Premise: The crew of a starship is divided into two batches. While one batch runs the ship, the other batch is cryogenically frozen. After a point they switch over and so on. The two batches have never seen each other, nor are they allowed to communicate in any way. Before each switchover, the cleaners make sure they have removed everything that belongs to the previous batch, to prevent any kind of communication taking place by accident or otherwise.

Plot: The main character of the story wakes up from his freezing period, and goes to his sleeping quarters. He goes in the bathroom, and suddenly finds a pair of earrings there. He realizes that this belongs to someone from the other batch, and that he shares his room with a woman. Before going back to the freezing room again, he writes her a note and hides it in the tap. When he wakes up again he finds a note waiting for him in the tap, from that woman. Throughout the rest of the story they keep passing notes to each other, even though they never actually see each other. [this is as far as I remember, I forgot what happens at the end]

Has anyone come across this story?
